Allied-Telesis.K.K.
Based on the recognition that environmental issues are critical issues shared among all people, initiatives are carried out at Allied Telesis K.K.
with harmony with the global environment as an important management theme. Until now, Our company have made considerations for reduced use of resources and reduced consumption of energy in products, but for the future our company finds appropriate measures applied at the purchasing stage of procured materials to be critical to the further reduction of burdens on the environment. As such, our company is promoting the preferred procurement of products, parts and raw materials that pose little burden upon the environment, also known as "Green Procurement," and to that end we established these "Green Procurement Standards." We will carry out Green Procurement as established in these Standards, and we ask for the understanding and cooperation of our business partners.

Guided by such philosophy, the entire Group is committed to global environmental preservation activities. 1.2. Basic Policy
Allied Telesis Group is committed to continuous improvement of the environments and proactive prevention of pollution, and performs environmental management to fulfill its social responsibilities based on the following, 1) In the area of business activities of Allied Telesis Group, we view preservation of global environment as one of the most important management challenges and establish the Environment Management System, continuously improve corporate activities and strive to prevent environmental pollution. 2) With activities related to all processes of development and manufacturing of products at lower environmental load, we offer products with consideration of energy saving, resource saving and elimination of hazardous substances. 3) We strive to promote and improve activities for reduction, reuse and recycling waste materials (3R activities) to lower the environmental impact. 4) We comply with applicable laws and regulations related to the environment and self-imposed regulations in the industry as well as environmental requirements of stakeholders. 5) We continuously strive to improve the Environmental Management System by performing management review along with activities by setting environmental object and target. Allied-Telesis.K.K.
2. Green Procurement Procedure of Allied Telesis K.K.
Into Action of Allied Telesis's Group Basic Policy of Environmental Policy, Allied Telesis/Telesyn Group K.K. will add "Environment" to the existing indices "Quality," "Price", and "Delivery" in order to procure material which have the least negative impact to the environment. Allied Telesis K.K. shall implement the below so that users can use our products without any anxiety. *** Establishment and maintenance of environmental management system *** Implementation of environmental product assessment Based on the fundamental policy, we will implement procurement activities that satisfy requirements (1) and (2). Suppliers of materials and chemicals are kindly requested to understand our concept and cooperate to our activities. (1) Establishment and Maintenance of Environmental Management System
We will procure materials from suppliers who have established an environmental
management system in compliance with ISO 14001 or EMAS (the eco-management
and audit scheme) whenever possible
(2) Use of Environmental Product Assessment
We will make preference to procure products, parts, and materials that pose little burden on the environment.
Evaluation will be made from the viewpoint of regulations for chemicals, the 3R's (reuse, reduce recycle),
and reduced energy use.
3. Scope of Green Procurement Standards
*** Being applied to the Allied Telesis Group around the world. K.K. This standard shall be applied to all operating units of Allied Telesis Group K.K. for their procurement of materials. *** Materials (products, components, raw materials) All materials procured by Allied Telesis to compose our products including units, components, and raw materials. But equipment of production , instruments or office supplies are not included. Allied-Telesis.K.K.
4. Requirements relating to Environmental Management System
4.1. Establishment of Environmental Management System
It is desired that products, parts and raw materials subject to procurement are produced at and shipped
from plants operated based on ISO14001 or EMAS or other environmental management system standards
Allied Telesis will verify the environmental management system status of subject suppliers. 4.2. Corporate Concept and Policy on Environmental Protection
It is desired that suppliers have established concept and policy on environmental protection and disclose
the information to the public.
Allied Telesis will confirm the above, as needed. 5. Environmental Product Assessment Standards
