ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING
PROCEDURES
Alcohol and Drug Testing Procedures
These alcohol and drug testing procedures shall apply where alcohol and drug testing of employees is warranted by the Total Energy Services Inc. ("Total Energy") Alcohol and Drug Policy. All testing of employees and contractors must be authorized by the appropriate
management of Total Energy which includes General Manager, Operations
Manager, HSE Coordinator or equivalent positions. Where special
circumstances warrant, other management or supervisory personnel may also
authorize testing.
Requests for Testing from Customers
If a request is received from a customer to test an individual employee or contractor, the appropriate manager shall report the request to operational management for evaluation and approval. The manager shall communicate the details surrounding the request, in order to permit operational management to make a decision on testing. Testing Procedures and Parameters
Alcohol and drug testing will occur within a designated time frame as determined by Total Energy. Unless otherwise directed by Total Energy, all testing shall be conducted by Total Energy's approved testing service provider or by approved Total Energy personnel. All test samples and results shall be treated as confidential by Total Energy, subject to such reasonable disclosure as is required in order to manage the individual employment or contractor relationship. The custody and security of all test samples and results shall be in accordance with the standards as established by third party service providers. Alcohol testing will be conducted by saliva testing. Drug testing will consist of saliva or urine testing unless otherwise determined by Total Energy. A positive alcohol test result is measured at a .04 BAC (blood alcohol consumption). A positive drug test is measured based on the substance in question with positive test results being the amounts set out in Schedule "A" to these Procedures. Failure to Submit to a Test
Failure to report for a test within the designated time frame, refusal to submit to a test, or any attempt to tamper with a test sample is considered a violation of the Total Energy Alcohol and Drug Policy. As a result, disciplinary action may be taken, up to and including dismissal. Re-Testing
Employees who test positive may request a re-test of their original sample by
another approved laboratory within seventy-two hours of being notified of their
positive test result, at the employee’s expense. Contact the appropriate
management regarding the nearest locations for an approved testing facility.
